Requirement review / supplier coordination

Aftermarket flywheel manufacturers: dimensions and balance before quoting

Define the requested service scope before asking suppliers for terms. Flywell Sourcing coordinates dimension and balance questions; it does not machine flywheels or certify clutch systems.

Define the coordination scope

Requirements review

Buyer supplies vehicle year/make/model, engine and transmission codes, OE reference for identification only, tooth count, diameter, inertia intent, clutch installation face, quantity, US destination state and drawings when available. A family brochure is not a drawing for the offered part.

Supplier questions

Ask aftermarket flywheel manufacturers for the exact reference, dual-mass versus single-mass construction, included bolts, balance method statement, sample availability and packing unit. Unverified interchange claims stay pending.

Quote comparison

Separate per-piece price, bolt kits, freight, taxes and service fees. Clutch discs or release bearings that the buyer will source elsewhere are not inside a flywheel-only quote. Do not treat a shorter number as a saving percentage against an unnamed market.

Order handoff

Record the accepted sample decision, remaining interface questions, Incoterms and who receives the shipment at the destination ZIP. Batch balance documentation requested from the supplier is not a blanket approval of later lots.

Use the lightweight versus dual-mass option list when describing construction, then send the inquiry.

Send the part and application

Include quantity, order unit and destination.
